Swedish Oat- & Fava Based Products Since 1989
The Green Dairy was founded in Karlshamn, Sweden, and started our commercial operations in 2006 but our roots trace back to 1989 when food pioneer Bo Funeteg created the plant-based brand Lovice under the company Bofood. In between we have also operated under the name Gröna Mejeriet, but now it’s The Green Dairy.
Today we are an independent Swedish B-2-b developer and co-manufacturer. We help brands and retailers to innovate, develop and replace dairy with sustainable, healthy and great-tasting products made from natural Oats and hybrids with Fava beans.

Natural
- Our oat drinks are natural plant-based drinks made from Swedish oats in a gentle process where we use water, oats and a hint of salt.
- This without passing a cow anywhere on the way.
- Plant-based and totally vegan.
NUTRitious
- By adding the desired vitamins and minerals, we produce the perfect drink to replace dairy alternatives.
- Naturally lactose free.
- Naturally low on gluten.
SUSTAINABle
- Producing 1 L of cow’s milk emits ≈ 3 × CO2 emissions compared to oat from ~3.2 kg CO₂e to ~0.9 kg CO₂-e per litre.
- Dairy uses ≈ 10 × the land compared to oat
- Cow’s milk uses 2–20 × the water required for most plant drinks.

Upcycling First – Waste Last
We do more than craft tasty Oat Drinks. Every kilogram of residue from our process is upcycled into new food ingredients. Our reOat® stream is transformed into burgers, meatballs, pulled-pork-style shreds and other meat analogues. This proves that we can feed a growing population while reducing our carbon footprint.

ReOat® our residue product and is a significant innovation, turning the residues from Oat Drink production into nutritious ingredients used for example meat alternatives.
